Displays Tab
The ATI Displays tab provides information on the current screen resolution and refresh rate your display is
set to. If you have a second display device or a television installed, it also allows you to enable and disable
display devices by clicking on the devices'
button.
Clicking the Monitor button accesses additional monitor properties tabs.
Monitor Attributes Tab
The Attributes tab provides the monitor's DDC (Display Data Channel) information.
Use DDC information checkbutton
If the monitor is DDC compliant this should be automatically checked. It is recommended to leave this
checked for DDC compliant monitors. DDC is the technology whereby monitors communicate their properties
(such as maximum resolution) to the video card so the user is presented valid options for configuring the
display.
Maximum Resolution list
For non DDC compliant monitors. Allows the user to select the maximum resolution the monitor will
configure to.
Maximum Refresh list
For non DDC compliant monitors. Allows the user to select the maximum refresh rate the monitor will
configure to.
If you are using a non DDC compliant monitor, consult your monitor's manual before selecting the
maximum resolution and refresh rate. Applying the wrong settings may seriously damage your monitor.
Monitor Adjustments Tab
The Adjustments tab allows you to configure your monitor's screen position and screen size.
Monitor Advanced Tab
The Advanced tab allows you to adjust your monitor's Horizontal and Vertical synchronization.
The Composite button combines the horizontal and vertical signals supplied by the video card to your
monitor.
The Composite button should only be checked if you are using a composite sync monitor.
Consult your monitor's manual for information on your monitor type.
