Removing the PC Card Reader

CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, read the safety instructions in your Product Information Guide.

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.

1. Follow the instructions in "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer."
   
   
2. Remove the center control cover.
   
   
3. Remove the display assembly.
   
   
4. Remove the keyboard.
   
   
5. Remove the palm rest.
   
   
6. Remove the four M2 x 3-mm screws securing the PC card reader to the system.
   
   
7. Use the pull tab to disconnect the PC Card reader connector from the system board.

8. Lift the PC card reader straight up and out of the computer.
   
   

When replacing the pc card reader, follow the steps in reverse order.
