NOTICE: To prevent damage to components inside your computer, discharge static electricity from your body before you touch any of your computer's electronic components. You can do so by touching an unpainted metal surface.

1. Follow the instructions in "Preparing to Work Inside Your Computer."
   
   
2. Remove the keyboard.
   
   
3. Remove the palm rest.
   
   
4. Pull straight up on the fan cable connector to disconnect it from the system board connector.
   
   
5. Free the fan cable from the cable routing pegs on the system board.

6. Remove the two M2.5 x 8-mm screws from the fan, and pull the fan away from the system board.
