Dell™ Latitude™ X1 Service Manual


CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, read the safety instructions in your Product Information Guide.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
  1. Follow the instructions in "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer."

  2. Turn the computer over and remove the six M2.5 x 5-mm screws that are not labeled.

  3. Remove the keyboard.

  4. Remove the display assembly.

  5. Remove the memory shield.

  6. Remove the hard drive.

  7. Remove the thermal-cooling assembly.

  8. Remove the palm rest.

  9. Disconnect the power button cable from the system board.

  10. Remove the M2 x 3-mm screw securing the power button to the system board.

  11. Lift the power button straight out of the base.
