Hinge Covers

CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, read the safety instructions in your Product Information Guide.

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.

1. Follow the instructions in "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer."
   
   
2. Remove the keyboard.
   
   
3. Remove the hinge covers:
   
   
   1. Open the display all the way (180 degrees) so that it lies flat against your work surface.
      
      
   2. Use a plastic scribe or flat-blade screw driver to pry up one of the hinge covers.

3. Lift the hinge cover away from the computer, and lay it aside.
   
   

4. Repeat steps a through c to remove the other hinge cover.
