Note: To help avoid possible damage to the system board,
unplug the computer system and wait 15 to 20 seconds for the standby power
to dissipate before adding or removing any components from the system.

Dell performs the installation and setup on CD-RW drives that are shipped
as part of a system, including loading the appropriate device drivers when
the operating system is installed. The drive is ready for use when you
receive your system. No further installation or configuration is necessary.

Installing the Drive
SONY CD-RW CRX216E can be mounted vertically or horizontally.
Maximum Cable Length = 18 inches (0.46m)
Install and configure the drive according to the instructions provided
in the Dell documentation for your system.
Press the CD Tray until the tray is closed completely.
Audio CD will start playing (If Audio CD does not start-up, see Troubleshooting
section).
Note: If customer has an older version of the NT file
called cdaudio.sys this older version will not play audio CD's and in some
cases won't even read data CD's such as Kodak Photo CD's. In addition,
if the customer has the "Autorun feature" turned off, the drive will not
automatically start playing the CD.
