In 1999
Hitachi America, Ltd's Computer Division ("COM") embarked on a compliance
plan to ensure that its business processes, products, and systems could
successfully handle the change in date from the year 1999 to the year 2000.
The change from the year 1999 to the Year 2000 did not result in any disruption
in COM's ability to provide goods and services to our customers. With regard
to the Year 2000 capability of Hitachi Hard Disk Drives, please note that
these products are storage peripherals, which store, read, and write information
supplied by the host systems in which they are installed for by another
medium. As storage devices, Hitachi Hard Disk Drives do not modify data
and contain no internal time related functions or counters. Therefore,
we do not anticipate that Hitachi Disk Drives products will experience
any difficulties as a result of the Year 2000.
