Setting the General Configuration: Cyberlink PowerDVD User's Guide

This is the default configuration setting suited for users in managing their DVD preferences.

  • In case you have multiple drives, the Default Drive option let's you select the most appropriate drive. Otherwise, the default setting should be correct. It will also display the title of the current disc.

  • Check the Play automatically upon inserting disc if you would like PowerDVD to automatically play discs whenever they are inserted.

  • Check the Show warning messages if you would like to display warnings and additional information.

  • Show icon in system tray when minimized displays the PowerDVD in the lower right corner of your screen area (by the time) in the system tray when minimized.

  • When Run PowerDVD automatically at the Windows' startup is checked, every time you turn on your computer, PowerDVD will start (in Windows OS mode).

NOTE: The latter two options may be linked, so on occasion, if one is checked, the other will automatically be checked too.
  • Show Tool Tips will display a hint, in the form of a yellow text box, that will reveal what the function is whenever your cursor is positioned over a specific function or feature.

  • Show toolbar controls will create a PowerDVD user interface toolbar with the most often used controls located on the top of the screen, which will be hidden when not activated, for easier access and unbridled convenience.

  • The next selection is Enable Hardware Accelerator. Check here if you would like to activate IDCT and Motion Compensation. By enabling Enable Hardware Accelerator, some features will be unavailable. Please refer to the Readme file for a complete list of supported display chips.

  • Click Restore Default to use PowerDVD's default configuration settings.

Go to another configuration area or click OK when you are finished.
