Using my TrueMobile 1150 Series with Dell Wireless Home Networking 4800LT

Using my TrueMobile 1150 Series with TrueMobile 1100 Series Access Points

Using the TrueMobile 1150 Series with the Dell Wireless Home Networking 4800LT

TrueMobile 1150 Series will work with Dell Wireless Home Networking 4800LT networks.

How do I configure my TrueMobile 1150 Series card to work with my existing 4800LT Peer-Peer Network?

You need to make sure that all the computers on your network share the same SSID/Network Name and WEP Encryption keys. It is important to note that the format for entering an encryption key in a 4800LT card is different that the format used for the TrueMobile 1150 Series. This will require you to select a key for the 1150 series cards and then convert that key to a format for the 4800LT cards. Do not use the encryption key that is already in the 4800LT card.

To start, choose an Encryption Key for the TrueMobile 1150 Series card. The encryption key must be 5 characters long and in range of "0-9", "a-z", and "A-Z" and is case sensitive. Write down the key you choose as you will need to enter this information on every computer on the Wireless network.

Next, you will need to convert this key from the ASCII format that is used in the 1150 series card to a hexidecimal format for the 4800LT card. Use the table and example below to accomplish these steps.

Example:

Encryption Key in ASCII format to be used in the 1150 Series cards: 186hT

Encryption Key converted to hexidecimal using the table below. This key will be used in the 4800LT Series cards: 3138366854
