Placement of
Speakers
Setup
CAUTION: Do not insert the Power
Adapter into the wall outlet until all the connections are
made.
Make connections as shown in Figure 1.
Note that the plugs are color coded for
easy reference.
- 1) Connect the LEFT SATELLITE SPEAKER to
the RIGHT SATELLITE SPEAKER. Plug the WHITE 1/8" jack connector on
the Left Satellite Speaker into the back of the Right Satellite
Speaker.
- 2) Connect the RIGHT SATELLITE SPEAKER to
the SUBWOOFER. Plug the speaker wire with the RED connector into
the corresponding port on the back of the subwoofer.
Note that this connector has an arrow
on it. This arrow should face up as shown in Figure 1.
- 3) Connect the SUBWOOFER to the computer.
The GREEN color-coded wire connects the INPUT on the subwoofer to
the AUDIO OUTPUT on your computer.
- 4) Connect the POWER ADAPTER to the
SUBWOOFER. Plug the BLACK connector on the POWER ADAPTER into the
port labeled POWER INPUT on the back of the subwoofer. Note that
this connector has an arrow. This arrow should face up as shown in
Figure 1.
- 5) Plug the POWER ADAPTER into the wall
outlet.
- 6) To turn the system on press the On/Off
button located at the rear of the right satellite speaker base.
*Note: A power indicator
next to the POWER INPUT on the subwoofer will glow. This is an
indication that the plug is properly inserted and that power from the
adapter is being delivered to the subwoofer. The power indicator will
glow at all times as long as the power plug is connected to a powered
wall outlet. The satellite amplifier power on/off switch is
independent and has no effect on this indicator. The ACS340 must be installed close to an AC power socket so that the adapter power cord plug can be easily pulled out to disconnect power.

Placement
of Speakers
All stereo information is heard from the
satellite speakers. The satellite speakers are magnetically shielded
and can be placed close to the monitor without distorting video
images. The satellite speakers can be titled upwards if required, for
better directivity of sound. Best effect is obtained by placing the
speakers as far apart as practical. See Figure 2. To tilt the
speaker, place one hand on the base and with the other, apply
pressure to the top of the speaker. Once the speakers are adjusted
they will stay in place by friction between the base and the speaker.
Figure 2.
The subwoofer contains no stereo information
and sound is non-directional. As a result, the subwoofer does not
have to be placed in any particular relation to the satellite
speakers. Placing the subwoofer on the floor close to a wall or
corner of a room provides maximum bass efficiency. The subwoofer is
not magnetically shielded and should not be placed close to the
monitor.
