Introduction: Altec Lansing ACS340 User's
Guide
The ACS340 is an amplified speaker system
featuring a subwoofer for extended low frequency response. The system
is especially designed for multimedia computer applications.
The unit is comprised of a subwoofer and two
satellite speakers, and features separate VOLUME, BASS, and TREBLE
controls and a headphone jack for private listening. Power to operate
the unit is obtained from an external power adapter. These features
are explained under "Using the Speaker System".
A patented control circuit automatically boosts
bass at low volume to maintain musical sound "realism".
The satellite speakers are mounted on a base
that allows the speakers to be angled upwards if required, for better
directivity of sound.
The satellite speakers are magnetically
shielded and can be placed close to a monitor without distorting
images.
When the ACS340 is not used with a Multimedia
Computer, it can serve as an amplified speaker system for CD players,
cassette players and various video/audio sources with excellent
results.
