Removing the Display Assembly

To remove the display assembly, follow these steps:

1. Remove the palmrest assembly.
2. Remove the (2) 5-mm interface-cable grounding screws from the display-assembly interface cable.
3. Disconnect the display-assembly interface cable from connector JP1 on the system board by grasping the grounding tabs and pulling the connector straight up from the system board.
4. Close the display, being careful not to damage the display interface cable.
5. Remove the 4 silver 5-mm screws securing each of the 2 hinge brackets to the bottom case assembly.
6. Lift the display assembly from the bottom case assembly.

NOTE: When reinstalling the display assembly, install the 4 screws securing the hinges at the locations marked by arrows on the face of each hinge.

CAUTION: When reinstalling the interface-cable connector, be very careful not to insert the connector at an angle. Position the cable end over the connector and push the connector straight down to prevent bending the connector pins.

• LCD panel
• LCD inverter board
• Display-assembly interface cable
• Display assembly latch
• Display-assembly top cover
• LCD display hinges
