Keyboard

1 internet.gif (847 bytes) Internet Connects you to the Internet, depending on your ISP setup. The default home page is
http://www.dellnet.com.
2 search.gif (913 bytes) Search Launches your default search browser at the Dellnet Web site at http://dellnet.snap.com.
3 mail.gif (937 bytes) Mail Starts your e-mail program. The default is Microsoft Outlook Express.
4 wpe1.jpg (1008 bytes) Sleep Activates sleep mode.
5 volumdwn.gif (866 bytes) Volume Down Decreases the speaker volume.
6 volumup.gif (907 bytes) Volume Up Increases the speaker volume.
7 mute.gif (932 bytes) Mute Mutes the speaker volume.
8   Keyboard palmrest Provides wrist support while typing.
9   USB port connectors (2) Enables use of other devices such as a mouse and game controller.

You can change the settings for the Internet, Search, and Mail keys by using the
Hotkey Setup in the Windows Control Panel. To change these settings, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click the Hotkey Setup icon and make the desired changes for each key:
  • Internet key — To go to a different home page, change Internet Browser.

  • Search key — To use a different Web search engine, change Search Page.

  • Mail key — To use a different e-mail application program, change the pathname under Email Reader.
  1. Click OK.

    The new settings are active immediately.
